VowFly helps couples plan destination weddings. That means we hold two kinds of information: details about you, and details you enter about your guests. This page explains both, in plain language.

Who we are

VowFly is a wedding website and invitation platform operated by Destify, Inc. Everywhere else on this page, “we” and “us” mean VowFly.

What we collect about you

When you create an account and build a wedding site, we store:

  • Account details. Both partners' first names, optional last names, an email address, and an optional phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, nothing else, and never your Google password.
  • Wedding details. Your wedding date, destination, venue name and address, hotel information, schedule of events, and any text or photos you add to your site.
  • Support messages. If you contact us, we keep your message, name, and email address so we can reply and follow up, along with any screenshot you attach, basic details of the device and page you wrote from, and a one-way hash of your IP address that we use to rate limit the form.
  • Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, and general device and browser information, so we can see which parts of the product work and which do not.

Guest information you give us

Your guest list is information about other people, so it gets its own section. When you add guests, or when guests RSVP through your site, we store their names, email addresses, phone numbers, hotel, party grouping, their RSVP response for each event, and anything you or they add about their trip: arrival and departure dates, whether they need the shuttle, and any notes either of you leave on their entry.

We hold that information on your behalf and use it only to run your wedding site and RSVP flow. We do not sell it, we do not add your guests to our own marketing lists, and we do not contact them for any purpose of our own. You are responsible for having a reasonable basis to share your guests' details with us, in practice that they are people you are inviting to your wedding.

A guest who wants their information corrected or removed can ask you directly, or contact us and we will route the request to you.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party cookies. We do not sell your information, and we do not add your guests to any marketing list of ours. Our product measurement loads on every VowFly page, including the wedding sites we host for you. Our advertising measurement tag does not: it loads only on our own pages, meaning our marketing site, signing in and signing up, and the app once you are signed in. It is never loaded on a wedding site or an invitation, so a guest who only opens the link a couple sent them is not reported to any advertising network by us. Both tools are described below.

  • Sign-in cookies. Required. These keep you logged in. Without them the product cannot work.
  • Product measurement. An identifier that lets us compare two versions of a page and count how many people complete a step. Once you are signed in, that identifier is your account email address, and it stays that way in that browser until its cookies are cleared, including while you look at a wedding site. Measurement from a wedding site also records which wedding it came from, so we can tell one couple's traffic from another's. A guest who has never signed in to VowFly is counted under a random identifier that we cannot connect to a name.
  • Advertising attribution. If you reach VowFly from one of our ads, we store the click identifier and campaign tags so we can tell which ads bring couples to us. These are kept for 90 days. This is about the pages we advertise, not about your wedding site: our advertising tag is not loaded there, and what your guests do on your site or invitation is never sent to an advertising network. Product measurement still applies there, as described above, which includes recording which wedding a visit was to.

Companies that process data for us

We do not sell your personal information. We do share it with service providers who run parts of VowFly on our behalf, each limited to what their job requires:

  • Supabase: account sign-in and the database where your site and guest list live.
  • Vercel: hosting and delivery of the site itself.
  • Cloudinary: storage and delivery of photos you upload.
  • Resend: sending transactional and notification email.
  • PostHog: product analytics, used to understand feature usage.
  • Google: Google Sign-In if you choose it, Google Maps for venue, city, and hotel lookup, and Google Ads conversion measurement.

How long we keep things

We keep your account and wedding content for as long as the account exists, so you can come back to a site you built. Closing your account starts a 30 day clock, described below. Advertising attribution expires after 90 days.

Closing your account

Closing your account from Settings takes your wedding site and your invitation offline immediately, so nobody with the link can reach them any more.

For 30 days after that you can sign back in and reopen the account, and everything is where you left it. Once those 30 days are up we delete it: your account, your wedding content, your guest list and their details, the photographs you uploaded, and your sign-in itself. That deletion runs on a schedule, not on request, and it cannot be undone.

Two things outlive it, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise. The product measurement records described above sit with our analytics provider on their own retention. And if you have written to support, that conversation and anything you attached to it are kept as a business record. Ask us through the support form and we will remove either of them too. Your unsubscribe preference is also kept, on purpose, so that closing an account can never put you back on a marketing list.

Your choices

You can edit your account details and your guest list from inside the product at any time. Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link; using it stops marketing email without affecting the transactional messages your wedding actually needs, such as RSVP notifications.

You can also ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a formal right to do so; we honor these requests regardless of where you live. Contact us through the support page and we will confirm your identity before acting.

Children

VowFly is intended for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. A guest list may include children as invitees; that information comes from you, not from them, and we use it only to manage your RSVPs.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email.
